The headline: tracked conversions nearly doubled. GA4 key events (click-to-call taps + contact-form submissions, the two lead events set up in June) rose 90.5% month over month, from roughly 21 to 40, alongside a 38% jump in active users. The lead-tracking pipeline built in June is now producing a clear, growing signal that the SEO work is turning into phone calls and form fills, not just rankings.
Honest read on the search numbers. Clicks grew for the fourth month running (153 → 190 → 225 → 248, up 62% since April), but impressions dipped about 7% off June's peak and average position slipped from 11.5 to 12.1. This is normal month-to-month movement on a small-volume site, not a trend; clicks and conversions, the numbers that matter, both rose. A meaningful share of July was spent on accuracy and trust cleanup (below) rather than new ranking pushes, which typically shows up as a flat-to-slightly-soft impression month followed by gains as the corrected and new pages mature.

🏆 Key Wins This Month

Caught and corrected wrong Oregon code claims live on the site (accuracy + trust save). A verification pass against the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (Table 1-E, parsed directly from the state PDF) found that several published pages incorrectly stated Oregon requires the NEC 230.85 outdoor emergency disconnect, 230.67 surge protection, and AFCI retrofits, with invented dollar figures attached. Oregon adopted none of those. Corrected the language on five live pages (new-construction, WA-vs-OR permits, whole-house rewiring, flickering-lights, and the FPE/Zinsco 210.12 citation), verified each fix live. Wrong code claims plus made-up costs read like a contractor padding a bill, the exact opposite of the trust the content is meant to build.
Three new pillar guides published, all fact-verified before shipping. Electrical Panel Permits in Metro City (the piece that turns the code research above into a lead asset, leading on the three rules Oregon does NOT require), Heat Pump Electrical Panel (electrification / "do I need a panel upgrade" high-intent), and Commercial Electrician in Metro City (fills the commercial gap where the site ranked ~#55). Every dollar figure, code reference, permit rule, and rebate status independently confirmed; the fabricated specifics from the research drafts (prevailing-wage dollar amounts, county fee percentages, the expired 179D framing) were dropped.
Reviews section rebuilt from scratch (the broken widget replaced). The Google-reviews widget on the reviews area had stopped loading. Replaced it with a self-contained static section: 21 real customer reviews, a 5.0-star header, prev/next arrow pagination, and both a "Leave a Review" and "Read all reviews on Google" button (wired to the real Google review + listing links). Pure HTML/CSS, no plugin and no JavaScript, so it cannot silently break again the way the widget did.
Knob-and-tube pillar rebuilt to v3. The knob-and-tube post was still on the old plain template with encoding artifacts (mojibake) and two live find-and-replace scars ("Get a Book a" and "Licensed Licensed Electrician"). Rebuilt clean in the v3 design, corrected the 230.85 language, fixed both scars, verified zero non-ASCII and zero banned phrases.
About page rebuilt to v3 with full internal linking. New About page in the v3 system with the family photo kept, a "What we do" service-chip row, and honest internal links to all seven service pages plus service area, reviews, blog, and contact. Review count corrected to 275+ to match the live Google total.
"Is work slowing?" diagnosed with data, and the real lever identified. Pulled GSC to answer the owner's concern: organic search is healthy and growing, so the constraint is the local/calls layer, not demand. The data showed the site ranks well organically for money terms (e.g., "panel upgrade" at #1) but the Google Map Pack captures those clicks, which points at Google Business Profile + reviews as the real growth lever. The diagnostic also surfaced that the recent phone-number change had not propagated everywhere: the old number is still on the branded van graphics and likely on off-site citations, a genuine cause of lost calls that is now on the fix list.
Social content engine ran all month. Companion GBP posts for the new pillars, plus a batch of real-job social content: the branded AAMCO commercial warehouse video (logo overlay, no phone), a Hillsdale driveway light-post post, and a high-end Rejuvenation chandelier install in SW Metro City, each produced as both an Instagram graphic (brand overlay) and a compliant GBP post. Old phone numbers visible on the van in two of the job photos were cleanly removed before publishing.
Sitewide "free" language scrubbed (liability cleanup). A live scan of all indexed URLs found pages still advertising "free" assessments, which the owner does not offer. Corrected the four owned pages with grammar-safe phrase replacements (not a blind word-delete, which had previously produced the "Get a Book a" scar), reworded utility-program facts to keep them accurate, and added the rule to the blog skill so it never recurs.

✅ Work Completed

TaskStatusNotes
Oregon code-claim corrections on 5 live pagesDoneVerified against OESC Table 1-E (state PDF, parsed): OR did not adopt NEC 230.85, 230.67, or AFCI retrofit. Fixed new-construction, WA-vs-OR permits, whole-house-rewiring, flickering-lights, and the FPE/Zinsco 210.12(D)→(E) citation. Each confirmed live.
Electrical Panel Permits in Metro City — pillar publishedDone/blog/electrical-panel-permit-portland/ — centerpiece: the three requirements Oregon does NOT enforce (anti-upsell). 8-Q FAQ, BlogPosting + FAQPage schema, verified against Table 1-E.
Heat Pump Electrical Panel in Metro City — pillar publishedDone/blog/heat-pump-electrical-panel-portland/ — "do I need a panel upgrade for a heat pump." Verified ETO rebate amounts, 25C/25D expiry, load-management alternative, OR GFCI/230.85/230.67 amendments. 7-Q FAQ + schema.
Commercial Electrician in Metro City — pillar publishedDone/blog/commercial-electrician-portland/ — targets the commercial head term (site was ~#55). Verified SB 426, 179D closure, complex-structure plan-review thresholds, OESC 2025; dropped all fabricated fee/wage specifics. 7-Q FAQ + schema.
Knob-and-tube pillar rebuilt to v3Done/blog/knob-and-tube-rewiring-portland/ — migrated off the old template, fixed mojibake, corrected 230.85, removed the live "Get a Book a" and "Licensed Licensed Electrician" scars. Schema updated.
Reviews section rebuilt (static, no plugin)DoneReplaced the broken Google-reviews widget with a self-contained section: 21 verbatim reviews, arrow pagination, Leave-a-Review + Read-all-reviews buttons (real g.page + Maps CID links). Pure CSS, no JS. Even-height card grid.
About page rebuilt to v3DoneFamily photo kept, "What we do" service-chip row, internal links to all 7 service pages + service area / reviews / blog / contact (all verified live). Review count set to 275+.
Sitewide "free" scrub (4 owned pages + skill rule)DoneLive scan of 213 URLs; corrected owned pages with grammar-safe phrase swaps, reworded utility-program facts, fixed the generator meta (was 164 chars, truncating). Added the "never advertise free" rule to the blog skill + memory.
Growth / "is work slowing" diagnostic (GSC)DoneConfirmed organic is up (clicks 4 months rising), so the constraint is local/calls. Money terms rank organically but the Map Pack takes the clicks → GBP + reviews is the lever. Flagged old phone number still on van graphics + citations.
Branded commercial job video (AAMCO warehouse)Done9:16 branded reel: gold logo overlay + project title, no phone, audio kept. Clean switchgear footage doubles as commercial-page proof.
Light-post + chandelier social posts (IG + GBP)DoneHillsdale driveway light post and SW Metro City Rejuvenation chandelier, each as a branded IG graphic + compliant GBP post. Old van phone numbers patched out of both photos.
Companion GBP posts for the 3 new pillarsDoneCompliant What's New posts (no phone/URL/price/em-dash), correct button targets. Commercial post uses the AAMCO switchgear photo.
Review replies + wordless 5-star reply templateDoneDrafted replies in the "we" voice (dangerous-problem fix, communication, A-plus, response-time, and others), plus a reusable no-words 5-star reply.
New-number email signature / logo assetsDoneUpdated logo + contact assets carrying the new ((503) 555-0100 number for the owner's use.

Deploy note: the five code corrections are confirmed live. The three new pillars, the rebuilt reviews section, and the v3 About page were built and handed off this month; please confirm any that still need to be pasted/published so next month's report reflects live status accurately.

⏳ Carried Forward to August

ItemPriorityNotes
Fix the phone-number / NAP inconsistencyHIGHThe likely cause of the calls concern. Old ((503) 555-0100 still appears on the branded van graphics and probably on off-site citations (Yelp/Angi/BBB/Bing/Apple/LSA). Propagate the new number everywhere; inconsistent NAP also drags Map Pack rank. Highest-leverage lead-recovery item.
Confirm GA4 lead-event integrity after the number changeHIGHKey events are up 90%, which is great, but verify click_to_call still fires on the new tel: number and that events are not double-counting, so August's lead figure is clean.
GBP + reviews as the primary leverHIGHMoney terms rank organically but the Map Pack captures the clicks. Keep the review flywheel going (the new Leave-a-Review button + wordless-reply template help), post to GBP 2-4x/mo, and optimize the profile for "electrician portland" / "panel upgrade."
Deploy remaining v3 service pagesMediumGenerator, remodeling, and energy-efficiency service pages are built and price-free; paste + schema when ready.
Request indexing for July URLsMediumPanel-permit, heat-pump, and commercial pillars + the rebuilt knob-and-tube. Speeds Google dropping the old wrong-code versions from the index.
Off-site authority / backlinks (DR still ~1.5)HIGHUnchanged bottleneck on Metro City head terms. Tier-1 citations + niche veteran/woman/minority directories + partner links (Ironside Plumbing, the Vulcan Design stadium relationship) is the biggest lever for non-branded leads.
Retire old-number image assetsMediumThe AI panel graphic and shirt/van photos carrying 816-8821 should be regenerated with the new number using the branding tool.
